The official blog for the Ink and Paper House of tennyoceres. Mizu Mikado is a (very silly) Japanese wordplay on part of my Etsy shop name. Ink, or sumi (すみ) becomes mizu (みず). Paper, or kami (かみ) becomes the basis of mikado (みかど). The literal translation is even sillier. It goes from ink and paper (炭と紙) to water emperor (水帝).

Family time and---WTF?
My goddaughter came over and requested in such a cute voice to make some paper. I was happy to oblige.
Her two little sheets are currently drying. While she was playing with her brother I realized that she took a good chunk of colored scrap I was planning to use for a new batch of Chagami.
But that's all spilt milk and I guess my grand plan will have to wait for a bit.
In the meantime, I have finally responded to the Etsy Chat Team call for a Halloween themed piece. This kooky guy is called Chouchinobake, a paper lantern monster with a long tongue.
