Busy Bee, Vegan Sample Bag, Wholesale

Been a while since my last post. Rumors about my death are untrue. But with toddler for a niece wanting to get my hands on my craft stuff during her visit to my house all October it's hard to even check up on e-mail.

I will be participating in the Vegan Craft Samples holiday 2009 giveaway bag. Thanks to my Etsy shop I was offered by Heather, who runs the VGS show, to participate. I will be making more bookmarks for this sample bag, which you can find at my Trunkt page (they're the most recent set).

And finally...I've been having so much fun making a ton of things at once that I finally decided to make some of my stuff available for wholesale. Check out my Trunkt portfolio for more info. I want to sell my paper, bookmarks, and calligraphy in small and big retail shops alike. I can only make so much within a given time but I'll be more than happy to take on large orders =D

Gettin Crafty and some AudioPal Fun

Doing my best right now to keep away from the heatwave that has struck the San Francisco Bay Area. So what am I doing?

I'm making bookmarks to give away as samples for The Little Black Box. It's a fun deal if you live in the U.S. Pay $17 and you'll receive a box filled with random goodies and samples. Sometimes it's food, sometimes jewelry, and just maybe you'll get my bookmarks. What fun!

So why bookmarks? I wanted a way to show off my calligraphy, my handmade paper, and a little bit of my crafty side at the same time. I kept a small size in mind as well, since my sample will be mixed in with other samples of an unknown quantity. I may be ambitious but I'm not greedy.

Materials:
  • Pre-cut bookmarks
  • Chagami goofs - The papers were too thick or too thin for me to sell, but I couldn't bear to get rid of them.
  • Hole punch (.25" round)
  • Tacky Glue
  • Scissors
  • Hemp string
  • Wooden beads
  • Pre-filled Japanese calligraphy brush - Traditional sumi (ink) bled through my test bookmark. I liked the way the pre-filled brush moved on the bookmark surface.
  • Sakura Pigma Pen (Graphic 1 size)
  • My hanko (a seal or 'chop')

It's a simple, easy way to let someone check out my range and creativity. If I get positive reviews for this I'll invest more time and sell these on my Etsy shop.

Moving on to some AudioPal fun. Thanks to The Paper Element for showing this off. Cookies to the person that gets the reference! =D
